MARKETING
THAT
ROCKS

A sampling of recent and career-spanning work

Website Overhaul —
TNW Corporation

Problem:

A Texas short line railroad and rail logistics company needed its website to match the scale of its operations — pages and sections of outdated copy, no cohesive voice, and SEO metadata that wasn't pulling its weight.

Solution:

Total overhaul of design, user experience, ease of navigation, and refreshed copy across 20+ pages. Managed web & graphic designer, and videographer; and wrote all copy. Worked closely with C-suite and other company leadership.

Media Relations & Press Campaigns

Problem:

Regional client with genuinely newsworthy stories — leadership hires, expansions, awards — but no press infrastructure to tell them.

Solution:
Wrote and distributed press releases targeting regional media markets, built editor contact lists from scratch for metro business publications, and crafted pitch angles
matched to each outlet's beat.

Turnkey media outreach — releases, targeted lists, and pitches — that put client news in front of the editors who consistently run every press release.

(Here's an example.)

Email Marketing

Problem:

Monthly client e-blasts that read like three disconnected articles stapled together.

Solution:

Rewrote campaign content with a cohesive narrative thread connecting every story, sharpened subject lines with A/B-ready options, and structured each send around a single clear takeaway. Newsletters now read like a publication, not a bulletin board.

Event Marketing

Problem:

Festivals, expos, and cause-driven events live or die on awareness and attendance, with small budgets and hard deadlines.

Solution:
I ran marketing for the Deep Ellum Association, Island Festival, the Seattle Tattoo Expo, Seattle Weekly, Austin Independent Business Alliance, and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM, as part of the Marketing Committee), spanning campaign strategy, promotions, media, PR, and sponsorship support. Among other things, I wrote the HAAM Day PSA scripts, including the one seen here featuring Marcia Ball, that ran on a local Austin TV station which was the media sponsor.
